R1 – Transnational research on Sustainable Forest Management

This involves transnational research on Sustainable Forest Management and restoration techniques. This collaboration between European and African countries will focus on sharing knowledge and best practices to promote forest conservation, prevent deforestation, and restore degraded lands. The research aims to develop practical, scalable solutions for sustainable forest management that benefit both ecosystems and local communities.

R2 — Sustainable Forest Management

Result 2 focuses on developing learning modules and a training format (MOOC) on Sustainable Forest Management and restoration techniques. These modules will provide accessible, online education to equip learners with the knowledge and skills needed for sustainable forest practices and ecosystem restoration. The MOOC will ensure wide-reaching, flexible learning opportunities for diverse participants, fostering expertise in sustainable forestry management.

R3 — FORestore campaign kit

The aim of the Kit is not just to raise awareness about sustainable forest management, specifically deforestation challenge and forest restoration techniques, but also to provide instruments and tools for its replication and use by NGOs and other stakeholders for continuing and amplifying awareness activities and engaging local communities. Targeted social media campaigns will be implemented across platforms, highlighting the EU’s role in supporting sustainable forest management education. The aim of the campaign is to reach target groups but also global audiences, learners, educators and the general public.
