R1 - Transnationale Forschung zur nachhaltigen Waldbewirtschaftung

Result 1 develops transnational research on Sustainable Forest Management and restoration techniques, bringing together European and African countries to share knowledge and best practices. The research supports forest conservation, helps prevent deforestation and contributes to the restoration of degraded lands, with the aim of producing practical, scalable solutions that benefit both ecosystems and local communities.

The findings and good practices collected through this work have directly informed the content of the MOOC (R2), so that learners can build on up-to-date, field-tested knowledge from both continents.

R2 - Nachhaltige Forstwirtschaft

Result 2 develops a set of learning modules and an online training format (MOOC) on Sustainable Forest Management and restoration techniques. The modules provide accessible, high-quality education that equips learners with the knowledge and skills needed for sustainable forest practices and ecosystem restoration.

Thanks to its modular and flexible structure, the MOOC can be:

  • integrated into the offer of vocational education and training (VET) centres, as a complement to existing technical and environmental courses;
  • embedded in university and school courses, either as a full module or as supporting material for related subjects;
  • followed as a self-paced pathway by anyone interested in these sectors, including professionals, jobseekers, career changers and motivated citizens.

In this way, R2 supports diverse learners and institutions, fostering expertise in sustainable forest management and contributing to the skills needed for forest restoration and the green transition.

R3 - FORestore Kampagnen-Kit
